a true recession has never been tried
recent so-called "recessions" were just an elaborate act to test various monetary policy tools

>negative 10%

whaddafuck
Christ our lord in Heaven
I want to speak with Jerome about this
I can't even imagine a world with neggy 1%, neggy 10% is wild
I might actually read the paper
why even stop at 10%? seems arbitrary. Why not go to 11%? 24% lol
everyone knows what kind of people end up at the IMF

when I talk about EU and Japan, I mean it in the sense that at least we can watch them go ahead of us in terms of QE and neggy interest rates.
I do agree in the concept of systemic risk, IE if we make a bubble together, then it will pop everywhere. If we make the bubble really, really big, then the pop will be really, really big.

I do kind of want to see a country hit -10% interest rates just to see it happen, though.
we should buy some minor Polynesian island or African country to try these things and see what happens ;)

hey that's a lot of words and nerd shit
I'm buying quality equities and you can't FUD me out of it
you can't FOMO me into trash either

My decision is made and I'm buying the dopest dope
the problem isn't interest rates or money or mumbo jumbo like that
It's all these fat people running around, and the faggies and the queers. women (who shouldn't be working) and children (who should, but the nanny state outlawed it).

I'm surprised, you usually never sell out intelligently, you just hold and decay to nothing. are you [learning] from past mistakes?

I get a 2.5% or 3% match, my company uses schwab
so right now I'm contributing ~4 to a normal 401k and ~1% to a Roth, with the Schwab tool set to increase them each 1% yearly until I get to 10%/10%. Already bought a house, I could easily go up to 20% contribution now, but I like playing with the money in my RH instead ;^)

I've got a VERY tasteful spread of mutual funds going on, it's really a work of art

please, we'll be crabbing down for at least the next decade
what you're going to see is ~flattish equity prices in USD during inflation. In boomer lingo, it's called a stagflation.

not everything is pumps and dumps, this time what we're looking at is a nice, gentle collapse

new bernie FUD today :)
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-05-22/sanders-revives-plan-to-tax-stock-bond-and-derivatives-trades

>Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders introduced legislation that would impose a tax on trades of all stocks, bonds and derivatives in the U.S., a move he says would help curb Wall Street speculation and help finance his campaign promise to provide tuition-free college and cut student debt.

>Sanders has been promoting a financial transactions tax since his run for the Democratic nomination in 2016. The plan he offered Wednesday would apply a 0.5% tax rate for stock trades, a 0.1% rate for bond trades, and 0.005% for derivatives transactions.

>The tax would both provide a disincentive for high-frequency trading based on algorithms and let Wall Street help middle-income Americans who helped foot the bill for the bailout of financial institutions after the 2008 market crash, he said at a news conference with other Democratic co-sponsors.
