Who the fuck is playing around in after hours trading and why are they doing it? Since the big dip in March, after hours trading has been buttfucking insane. SKYW just moved over $1.00 after hours, we all saw WKHS yesterday, etc etc. Is this just institutions fucking around? It seems wildly unfair but I didn't really expect the stock market to be rational or anything. Just seems inexplicable sometimes when things move in ridiculous ways with literally zero news

I know this is a tangent for this board, but /mu/ has zero interest in actually discussing the business side of music and I know there are some brains on here that could contribute to the conversation. What do you envision the music industry being like after all of this? I keep seeing independent venues demand government money, asking for something arbitrary like "6 months of aid covering fixed costs" but literally no one is demanding that those costs be frozen until they can actually go back into business. Why are we collectively so retarded about this?? Just like no one is truly demanding politicians pause rent and mortgage payments etc., these [over leveraged and already propped up] businesses are just asking for a fat payday instead of real assistance. Personally I'm not going to want to go to a stupid concert in 6 months, either because I don't want to catch some novel virus or simply because going to a show where the audience is required to wear masks, stand apart, and stay 3 meters away from any band that sings sounds fucking miserable.
