How exactly is Boeing right in this trade dispute?

>See someone making profit with a new plane in a market class you are not in
>See them give Americans jobs and industrial influence
>decide to complain to the commerce dept that Bombardier sold heavily subsidized planes while you are the most notorious for this kind of activity time and time again
>get 300% tarif tagged onto Bombardier
>leads to prolonged trivial trade dispute causing headaches for investors

How is this smart for them, now no one wants to work with them. Canada even said cancel their fighter jets order
