The main issue here is that businesses struggle all the time, even last year when stocks had never been higher. It's common, and that's why business leaders are highly compensated. However, we are currently in a situation where business is highly restricted by way of holding business licenses at threat of revocation ("if you open up your establishment, we the govt will forcibly close you down with police presence"), threat of jail, and new loans are generally less accessible than previously (though i believe refinancing is pretty damn easy right now).

Yes some businesses shut down, but not to the extent we're seeing now. People should be more worried instead of trying to rationalize everything going away.
