Why does STAKE just keep going up? I keep hearing stuff about it and that people are saying its going to $1k or whatever. I've been reading that since it was $8 but now I'm wondering if it was something other than the typical PnD.

Why should I buy BTC over ETH? I've done some looking into crypto and I see a lot of people saying if I'm looking to get into it, I should buy some BTC and ETH. Most the time they always say I should own more BTC. Is there any reason for this?

I don't get what actual value BTC has to begin with, as it is just a ledger. I understand the idea of digital gold, but that falls flat for me because you can't do anything with it to save its value from going to absolute zero.

Then there is also the problem with PoW. I'm an American, and to me it seems that China has the market cornered in terms of mining these things. Could BTC face global backlash because of China and environmentalism? I don't really give a shit about muh global warming, but I don't really want my money going to commie chinks.

Maybe the energy usage isn't causing mass protests now, but if BTC goes to golds market cap which is 8 trillion dollars (That is 80x what BTC's mcap is now) that means to have the same level of security it has now, it would need to use about 15% of the worlds power. I don't see that happening. This puts a hard limit on the value and the adoption of PoW.

With ETH I do see that they are using Proof of stake in the future. Will this cause people to buy up tons of ETH in order to secure the network? (The networks security is tied to its price, there are tons of things on ETH network, such as Tether and Chainlink, both are very high value). I also see big names like fidelity, Ernst and Young etc, building on Ethereum, I don't see anyone working/building with bitcoin.

In addition to all of this, I see that everyone knows about bitcoin, not everyone knows about Ethereum, I've only met two people that know about it and can tell me kind of what it does (One of these people is a friend who got me somewhat interested in crypto about a year ago).

So is there something I am missing here? I feel I've done a decent amount of research and I don't see a bright future for BTC.
