Kinda late response (samefag here, new vpn) but I didn't look at ICO sites in particular.
I was quite big on the BCH-BTC scaling debate and for some reason I was really emotionally invested in BCH, also spending a lot of time on /biz/ arguing with corekeks.
Bitcoin Cash was about to be the first coin with avalanche consensus before big egos collided and ruined the coin. It sucked but I dumped it in time, and it did allow me to buy the actual first avalanche consensus coin at a much lower market cap. So it worked out perfectly well for me.
And thanks to being so emotionally invested I understood avalanche consensus REALLY well. Like literally I had test software to check it out before actual avalanche consensus software was even out there. I really thought it was the next big thing (I kinda still do) so I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

>Someone tell me why BCH isn't better than BTC when the transactions and fees are cheaper and there isn't any second layer bullshit.
It simply is better and has always been. It's practically bitcoin without devs trying to destroy it for profit.
> What the fuck is a lightning network anyway and why is it at all necessary for BTC?
It's a cool idea that could alleviate about 50% of the onchain pressure, used as an excuse to limit block size to 1mb, as if it could handle 99% of transactions. It cannot and it's unreliable and not suited for the non-nerdy.
> Why not just make the blocks bigger?
Because there's no VC money when you go for the easy working solution.

Unlike corekeks, we're always here.
You don't notice us, because we're only active when we're responding to Adam Back's neckbeard army. He seems to be out of money, so we can be civil and have no retarded fud to respond to.

Bitfinex scammed me!!!
I decided to do some background research on this coin. /r/bitcoin directed me to bitcoin.org, where I opened the whitepaper and I instantly loved the idea of p2p electronic cash.
So I made a bitfinex account and bought some bitcoin.
But it turns out, they misleadingly sell a shitcoin named bitcoin core as bitcoin.
How do I get my money back?

>- Bitcoin was there far before Bitcoin Cash. Bitcoin Cash is a fork off Bitcoin created in 2017....
Absolute bullshit. They both forked off the Bitcoin chain, which has had plenty of hard forks before this moment. One fork that had nothing to do with what Bitcoin is (according to the whitepaper) got the name Bitcoin, the other that follows the same principles got named Bitcoin Cash. Blockstream trolls won that one.
>- Bitcoin.com / Bitcoin Reddit is not owned by Bitcoin enthusiasts...
Roger ver owns bitcoin.com since 2011 and has NEVER changed his positions in ANY topic whatsoever. Bitcoin.com is the only site that doesn't backtrack, lie or do a 180 on its opinions in favor of corporate profits, it supports bitcoin as it always was.
>- Bitcoin Core does not exist...
Bitcoin core is the centralized repo, where the BTC fork gets its updates, as determined by Blockstream employees.
Bitcoin Cash on the other hand has 6 different teams working on competing implementations.
>- Bitcoin Cash is more efficient as a means of payment than Bitcoin, just like ETH, LTC, XRP, XVG and numerous other coins. This does not make it the real Bitcoin. If that was the case, XVG would even more closely represent Satoshi's vision.
ETH gas prices are insane at the moment and its fund redistribution hard forks mean that it can never compete with BCH on being "money". At best it's a "resource" that's used in DApps, but ETH and BCH are in comlpetely different markets.
LTC is not a competitor of BCH since it has lowered security due to SegWit. It's a testnet like Ropsten, only with stupid people actually paying for testnet tokens. It also has no community besides pump and dumpers and bagholder shills
XRP is just as centralized as BTC
XVG security is incredibly poor and its latest hack dates back to earlier this week. BCH on the other hand has never been hacked in its existence

Heavy lifting, red meats and broccoli diet, frequent sex, 8 hours of sleep a night + financial success and you can join the club, too, bruh :)

It's the top earners giving back to the community, as they're already billionaires. In fact they're so leveraged in BCH that this move profited them as well.
But you probably prefer to be dumped on by whales (aka ltc bagholder) so I won't bother explaining why making money is better than getting f-ed in the ass.
