Professional MBA student here. I go to a top ranked mba school in Florida. You need to take this into consideration when picking a school. Either choose the one that is most convenient and affordable while also looking good (Illinois state is a great online program) or pick the program that will give you the most hands on leadership experience. Choose between those two things when looking at schools. I chose to go with the hands on leadership experience, so far I think it's worth it because I actually get to manage people in my group who experienced, educated adults whereas experience on the job in leadership can be kind of a dead end. This type of leadership makes you more tactful and gets you more goal oriented, at least from what I've experienced.

Also keep in mind. If you have a real professional job, a mortgage and any other responsibilities, you will be exhausted while pursuing it. I've accepted the fact that I'll be taking vyvanse to get me through my days for the next year.

Secondary things to consider, join any groups or clubs that can get you a job. For example, at my school if an alum or a corporation goes to the school looking for business positions to be filled, the people who get first dibs are in the finance club. I'm sure it's the same at most schools.

Best of luck, also try to get work to pay for some of it.
