Skin in the game? I won't pretend like I've read it, but if you consider the slip in importance of fundamentals, its obvious equity movement modeling has decoupled from reality. They work, but they don't work well enough, and what's worse is when they break it turns into a supermassive clusterfuck. Principally this is "okay", because the people heading these decisions, applying these models, can just cop-out and declare that these events were unpredictable and nothing could be done.

The reality is, historically, recessions occur over and over again, they're predictable as well, about every 10 years according to Dalio, and this is observable. Nassim basically outright predicted this, virus and its economic toll. The question is magnitude. The magnitude gets worse with each one, and yet the timeline is increasingly contracted due to the immediacy of monetary offerings which immediately inflates the economy while people are offered a dismal increase in their purchasing power through inflation.
