They are literal time and gains goblins - I am 1000% more productive when not living with a female. As soon as I live with one my 6 pack is gone within a few weeks and I'm wasting hours of my life either arguing, watching bullshit TV just because 'she doesn't want to watch it by herself', or going to gay social arrangements that she's organised. Or even worse, spending the day clothes shopping and waiting for her to try on 50 different outfits that she will then only wear once once she's bought them.
