Mcdonalds is the equivalent of a japanese zombie company after 2008. I don't know why biz has threads thinking it is a good stock. The bull thesis is always look at the numbers but they don't take into context it is a company that was built around a 1950s/1960s america business model that never changed since and doesn't fit into the 21st century reality and its problems. Their whole profit revolves around delivering a meal at the most competitive pricing that requires a level of speed and ease of delivery around the drive in. Their operations are energy intensive, vehicle ownership is shrinking, and energy is never ever getting cheaper to support the gap in population from 1960 to 21st century. Their growth is only going to slow to zero, their dividend payout is going to weigh them down, worse now that dividends are some assumed safe haven, most of retail approaches dividends like robinhood users approach the stock market in february 2021.
