Still though, I think we're going to see things move rather quickly in the coming months, and you're not going to need to worry about the lack of meaningful news this year.

I've been in this from the beginning, and here's what I see happening in the next few years:
CCIP release this summer/fall and a decent speculative pump to follow.
Then the real test begins.
CCIP needs to be successful with major organizations and spread in popularity to maintain that pump.
By the time the next halving/bull run rolls around, we'll probably see $200+ with link following the rest of the market.
Another big crash after the bull market
If CCIP, staking v1.0, etc are up and running with no issues and lots of clients, then we'll have adoption leading a serious pump to end all pumps that push us to a sustained $1000+

A lot needs to go right for this all to play out, and I wouldn't blame anyone for selling at $100+.
However those who can afford to hold 10k+ stacks through another cycle are going to be rich as hell.
The desperate twitter baggies who spend all day fretting over this shit day in and day out aren't going to make it.
The guys with a few hundred or thousand link are also going to be wiped out because the amount of time it'll take for their stacks to be worth serious money.
This isn't fud at all. I'm more excited for the future than I've ever been, but I'm realistic.

I'm in the same boat, and I really try to imagine that I'm holding 30,000 shares of AMZN through the 90's and 00's instead of link tokens.
I've put so much effort into educating myself about what Link is doing, and I've tried to be as neutral as possible about the future.
I'm willing to bet my future that Link is going to be worth thousands of dollars in the next decade, and when that happens, I'll be glad to look back at the struggle of holding during these bear markets.

Really, is there anything that points to CL not working toward being the most essential part of a decentralized banking/financial landscape?
We have every major financial institution and government finally admitting that blockchain is going to have a significant place in how we express value, and Chainlink is the only serious company/crypto entity that is working toward facilitating that.

I've got a few hundred thousand right now in Link tokens, which is a serious amount of money. I'd be a fool to be flippant with that amount of money and not be patient with the pace a multi billion dollar company is progressing with technology that will affect the movement of hundreds of trillions of dollars.

Personally, I think all this ESG insanity is to help usher in the technocracy you described.
Right now there's a big push to bring everyone to the same lower class in a system that incentivizes obedience.
Right now you have a lot of white, middle class people with more resources and better quality of life than most blacks.
This is because over the last several generations, blacks have become more and more degenerate and their family structure is nonexistant.
We can get into a big debate about why that is, but that's just the state of things right now no matter why.

Now we have every major corporation propping up the lower classes as the victims and the middle classes as the oppressors.
The upper classes aren't challenged in the slightest.
As we continue down this ESG path, we'll end up with a massive lower class that lives a life where there are microtransactions for every action, upward mobility is impossible, and most importantly, disobedience results in stricter rules and higher fees.

Once everyone has been put on the same "own nothing and be happy" level of existence, then the instance of "13/52" can be assessed and dealt with on a global scale.
This new decentralized truth will be blind to race and gender and will judge solely on the actions of the individual.
