Something like this is in or around Kelowna, BC (anywhere in the Okanagon really). The weather is really nice, where you still get a winter but its not freezing, and some of the best skiing/snowboarding in the world less than an hour away. You're right on a lake, but still relatively close to stores and stuff, or you could be more secluded up in the mountains. I wouldn't want a mansion house, just something relatively nice and modern that's preferably on the water

Its pricey, but not ridiculously so, and you're living in a place where every direction you turn looks like a postcard.
