Because these diseases are commonly found in animals, but rarely mutate to spread to people. Animals get sick with them all the time, but it just causes them discomfort, and the disease doesn't usually spread to humans (which it would kill), the probability of it doing so is extremely low. For an infection which spreads from animal to human and human to human, you would need millions and millions of each living in close proximity in unsanitary conditions so a mutation can occur and spread.

Guess what Asia has: Millions and millions of people and animals living in close proximity in unsanitary conditions.
