My parents still argue about bad financial decisions they made 20 years ago

Is this normal? are my parents mentally ill?

My mum always starts on about it anytime something related to finances comes up bringing back old stuff and insulting my dad for it 20 years on

I don’t get it, if my mum is so angry about it, why didn’t she just get a divorce decades ago?

They’re in their 60s and still argue about finances and bad financial decisions from decades ago

This can’t be normal right?

So I’ve been renting the same place really cheap for the last 10 years, landlord never put the rent up since I moved in, but he died recently and his kids inherited his stuff, and they want to increase the rent to current market.

I’ve been paying $1300/month, the same rental next door to me pays…. $2500, and my old landlord kids want me to pay what the average is for the area ($2200)

I havent responded yet… what are my rights in this situation?

If I move out, I’m going to end up paying about this much for rent anyway…

I’m pretty pissed off, I basically kept the place in 100% condition as when I first moved in 10 years ago and now I’m getting this all because the landlord died.

Do I consider myself lucky for having grandfathered rent for all those years and just accept the increase? I mean, I get that they want the average of the area… but their old man didn’t care and was happy I kept his property in pristine condition and never missed a single payment.

FYI: not owning because working in a state I don’t want to live in once I’m done working, have other investments (stocks, crypto, pms)
