BSV is NOT the Original Bitcoin
The central BSV talking point is that BSV is the original Bitcoin and that BTC and BCH are airdropped coins. This post will put this fallacy to rest. The following is a list of consensus rules enforced by Bitcoin SV that differ from the original Bitcoin. It should be noted that these are consensus rules which are only a subset of the broader protocol. There are numerous other changes to the protocol that are not listed here, such as a different network magic number, that would prevent BSV nodes from even connecting to and communicating with original Bitcoin nodes.

The signature hashing algorithm is different from the original bitcoin.
The difficulty adjustment algorithm is different from the original bitcoin.
ScriptNums are int32s where they were bignums in the original bitcoin.
Blocks are allowed to be larger than the 32 MB maximum enforced by the original bitcoin.
Has OP_NUM2BIN opcode that was not in the original bitcoin.
Has OP_BIN2NUM opcode that was not in the original bitcoin.
Has OP_SPLIT opcode that was not in the original bitcoin.
Has OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY that was not in the original bitcoin.
Has OP_CHECKSEQUENCYVERIFY that was not in the original bitcoin.
Has version 2 transactions which modify the consensus rules applied to the sequence field.
It enforces SCRIPTVERIFYSTRICTENC consensus rule which the original bitcoin did not.
