binance has lower fees for buying in with fiat, but the spreads are fucking trash. if you're using binance to trade then it's great. better off buying a USD stablecoin with fiat and then converting it to whatever you wanted through the market. i find this helps counter the original spread. keep in mind though converting from one coin to another is a taxable event, so if you plan on just holding you should use something else.
coinbase has better spreads when buying in with fiat despite charging double the fee that binance does. i've compared the two and notice that usually binance ends up giving me slightly more bang for my buck, but transferring out of binance wallet is more expensive.
