Splitting hairs is retarded, both want essentially the same thing.

>my only concern is it getting subverted in the same way bitcoin did.

Keep the moonfaggotry at bay while enforcing an anti-authoritarian cypherpunk ethos and Monero will be fine.

>monero and all other privacy utilities are for using, not "owning", the last thing you want is to have any wealth tied up in a system with no exits

Standard exits to fiat are a privilege afforded to you by the State. They can be taken away at any time. Good luck cashing out your Bitcorns when the State finally takes the gloves off and legislates crypto into the underground.

Ergo all the focus on building a circular economy and relying on decentralized P2P on/off ramps.

what compels fedniggers to continue to try to push cbdc, dogshit fiat, and stocks, when it has never been more obvious that all of these are total dogshit scams

honestly I trust stocks more than anything else I just listed and I literally own 0 of them

the answer to the problem is so incredibly obvious

basically, multinational corporations need the internet to try to build this nwo that they want, naturally there is only one currency that is basically failure proof xmr, I'm surprised they're leaving the door so wide open for the plebs of the world to buy in at 150 goybucks

they literally need this shit more than I do, the internet can go down tomorrow, I will build a traditional life in my small rural village like it's 1950 again, but these retards are so hellbent on world domination that they necessarily must go all in on xmr, because it's the only cryptocurrency actually worth anything, just lol, I'm actually done

>And who exactly is supposed to be paying here?
depends. at base layer users, or onion sites can subsidize traffic to their site, or some third party.

>>54795664
>The incentive is to provide a stable economy for Monero to thrive in. A healthy darknet = a growing online shadow economy = increased demand for XMR.
>A further incentive is that it drives glowies absolutely bonkers, every node added is one more they have to match in order to continue their attack.
I agree, just saying that A FAIR xmr incentive would make it explode.

>>54795664
>Running a node is as easy as installing an Android app which only consumes some bandwidth. You're not a target, running a node is 100% legal and all data is E2E encrypted so you can't be held liable.
yes and no. You need a computer to be running 24/7 which is a fire hazard if your at work and sleeping. Its easy until is not, I make my PC from scratch and run dual bot win and linux. And some things get corrupted or bug occurred and I am still not able to fix them. It may be legal but still paints a target me.
Also the dark market is a testing ground for xmr.
If in theory that's all it would remain I would say fuck it. My hope is that normal people will be able to use it when we win the culture ground

Who gives a shit if privacy coins are banned? If that's all it would take to cripple Monero then it doesn't deserve to survive.

>The fact that some guy every few months switches on his servers and almost gets one pool to 50% is worrisome.

There are ways to check if there is 51% attack abuses, also this is an inherent weakness in common to all POW blockcahin tech. and guess what it was fixed by P2pool which will replace all conventional pools in time. Also you can fork. BOT miners are more of an a asset that a liability. far better than asics production by one guy and mining buy a few corporations. BTC is defacto 100% attacked and compromised all the time.

>The price action is also quite bad.

Moofag. Also THE BEST PERFORMING asset of 2022, funny how all the BTC, gold, silver stock market niggers were quiet for 12 months. the price suppression means it works. there should be a breaking point. its stable. because it doesn't dump due to a wallstreet pump and dump. I do not even agree its le bad price.

I'm not calling you a BTC maxi, I just do not see your critical thinking skills in action

Welcome to the Monero General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading decentralized P2P privacy cryptocurrency!

Monero is secure, low-fee, and fungible, meaning users can send XMR around the globe despite corrupt governments or broken financial systems. Innovative privacy features such as Ring Signatures, Stealth Addresses, and Ring CT ensure that Monero's blockchain is obfuscated -- In other words, the financial history of all Monero users is encrypted from the prying eyes of adversaries on a public blockchain, with transactions being visible only by a user willingly providing a view key.

Monero has also improved upon the scaling downsides of current popular cryptocurrencies. To avoid high fees, dynamic block size ensures that the size of the blocks will increase as the amount of transactions increases. Further, the mining network algorithm RandomX establishes that anybody with a CPU can participate in mining, preventing the ASIC miner domination that creates a high barrier to entry. Lastly, the mining network will be preserved by Tail Emission -- instead of the block reward falling to zero like with Bitcoin, the block reward gradually approached 0.6 XMR in June 2022, where it will forever stay. This constant linear inflation means the inflation rate will asymptotically go to zero while continuing to provide an incentive to miners to maintain the network.

If you still have questions, feel free to ask and a MoneroChad will be with you shortly.
