What should I do if I am planning to hold BTC long term (10+ years)? What is the best way to keep it safe, aside from creating a paper wallet and committing the private key to memory?

anon

previous to 2017 the buy pressure on bitcoin was primarily two things: speculation and use on darknet
in 2017 it was speculation and use as a gateway to purchasing emerging blockchain technologies
in 2018 its sole purchasing pressure is as an intermediary to purchase blockchain technologies
because of this the price will likely stay flat until gateways not involving btc are available between the blockchain and fiat economies

from that point forward buying btc is a solely speculative play

you dont want to be holding at that point

queue the fud, autism and brainlets

You're overthinking it. Bitcoin is digital gold: a store of value that persists because holders insist upon it. The entire network is strengthened by a shared interest in maintaining it. Bitcoin will always be scarce, and with governments around the world printing FIAT like there's no tomorrow, cryptocurrencies will always have a place in the economic system.

Is there any place I can buy bitcoin right now as a newcomer? I want to "buy the dip" and I have my Christmas bonus but every single exchange has been down for days. I literally have $10k in my bank account taunting me.

we're seeing some resistance, if your holding long term then disregard this

but it's a good idea if you want more buying power and aren't longterming bitcoin to sell now and buy in when it's low again

resistance at 2.575
gonna see a small dip to around 2.425

Greetings /biz/, how can I begin to mine bitcoins and where can I go to learn more about it? I know that you need a wallet to start off and then you can begin buying machines to start mining, but I honestly have no fucking idea where to start, who is legit, and what will happen in the future.

Any help?

Are you American Coinbase users ready to have your accounts scrutinized? So much for anonymity, eh? You wouldn't want to avoid paying tax on your epic gainz now would you.

So I found this new BTC gambling site. It loos like shit, but it's legit. I would only play the dice game once because the odds are shitty as fuck but the coin flip game is niiice... It pays out double your deposit if you win and the odds seem to actually be 50/50 on this one. It's double or nothing, but if you play smart, you'll win a lot.

Daily reminder that Bitcoin has been FUD'ed to the extreme on this board by nocoiners and kikes and is not going any lower.

The $170 low in January is the bottom and isn't going any lower.

Nocoiners and retards who sold their bitcoins would love you to believe that bitcoin is going away, but it isn't.

Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency worth owning and one day you'll be sorry you have no bitcoins.
