You can even take one "restful" week off where you don't do much of anything but escape, and one "adventurous" week off where you run yourself ragged trying to pack experiences in. Or split the difference. But it works. If you have a lot of money you can ball the fuck out, or if you don't have much you can cheap out on the hotel but have some nice meals and experiences. Go camping if that's your thing.

A week or two is all you need to escape from the grind unless you literally have an anxiety disorder or something. It gives you something to plan for in advance, which helps keep away the dread. If the only thing sustaining you is a dream of 15+ years from now, you're bound to burn out. You need some short/medium-term goals to keep you motivated.

I know people who saved everything and died YOUNG. And I also know people who lived hand-to-mouth as if money was only for spending, who now are grinding their shit out because they didn't plan ahead. But you need enough set aside so you don't go hungry tomorrow, and enough for today to make tomorrow worth living for. Min-Maxing is gay as fuck.

To add to this, I got slowly redpilled through memes. It started with "the Holocaust never happened but I wish it did" style jokes that I thought at face value were funny because of their pure edginess and nothing else. But laughing got me into looking into it more, and I soon discovered that there was definitely some inconsistencies with the Holocaust and I eventually came to realize the meme was a tongue-in-cheek joke made by people who were dead serious about what they said, albeit in a way so satirically deadpan that it can reach other people. Truth through humor. Ironic but appropriate that laughter in an insane illusion world is what eventually helps break the illusion.

That's why free speech and free thought is so important to me because I would still be a brainwashed (albeit not as bad as most other people) NPC if it wasn't for the free exchange of ideas on this site. Shitposting and shillposting aside, this really is one of the only places on the Internet where you truly can discuss anything you want with minimal repercussions. I love you anons.
