my supervisor took away our gift basket and is planning on somehow auctioning it for charity or just giving it to charity. made my blood fucking boil.

it was given to us by a decent client, probably cost somewhere between 50-70 bucks, completely reasonable. supervisor's reasoning was that we couldnt accept it because it would be unethical since its a lot of money. i tried calmly saying the basket will be split between all of us (~5) and that its a nice gesture for the season. he said no, its going to charity.
