I started a year ago at 29 and am now in my second year as a 30yr old boomer, but took a semester off because I was immediately overwhelmed with anxiety that downspiraled into depression from the realization that I'm a cognitive subhuman. Some pointers for if I had to start over:

>Understand you have a mental condition you will carry with you for the rest of your life. Every time you get an assignment or task, understand that your brain will attempt to use every trick in the book to use avoidance behaviors
>Defeat any addictions or problematic habits you may have. Executive dysfunction, addiction, and poor habits are attracted to each other like flies to shit. Those tiny amounts of dopamine floating around your brain are vital (executive dysfunction is just low dopamine in a nutshell)
>Don't touch meds until you've eradicated addictions. They make it 100x worse and hurt more than help otherwise
>Planners, journals, electronic reminders, and calendars are your best friend. Get them and keep them with you for the rest of your life. Put stickers everywhere if you have to
>Keep it to yourself except for maybe your uni's health staff. Nobody will give a shit and most people still have the boomer mindset towards this stuff. I never told anyone, but I already know what the reactions would be.
