We have some junk silver advocates here, I believe somebody has even smelted their junk into .999 not sure. Junk can be a value investment but I'm unsure how easy it is to sell them for spot price of the silver content.

I do have a little sterling myself, but I'm never selling this beauty

The definition of value is: "the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something."

So, for something to be valuable it's enough for it to be useful. And food and water are useful to all mammals because they absolutely, certainly need it to continue existing, and all mammals instinctively strive for continued existence. You CAN value things in relation to other things but you don't always have to do that. It's not always a question of one or the other.

>We decide how valuable something is dependent on how badly we need or want something
And therefore, we all agree that food and water are valuable, since we all are dependent upon and we need food and water. HOW valuable are food and water? That is a qualitative question, and those questions always have answers not set in stone unlike quantitative ones. But food and water definitely, without a doubt, have value as regarded by their usefulness in keeping you and I alive. I guess an answer for the question "how valuable are food and water?" could be: "valuable enough to be one of the highest priorities in life to obtain (and consume) for any mammal".

But we're getting a bit philosophical here, let's agree to disagree I guess. Back to boomer rocks
