they abandoned the design because it was too much of a death trap even for them. there's video of some absolute legend trying to hover the thing and it looks like hes overcontrolling it rather dramatically, iirc there was some latency w/ the controls making it very difficult to fly, coupled with the offset of the cockpit from its CG the pilot would be shooting up and down tens of feet even with slight pitch changes making it yet even more difficult to fly. to be fair tho russian helicopters are based as fuck and anyone that disagrees is jealous of their work.
