I've always wondered. Aren't most financial assets simply a form of gambling? If I buy gold, aren't I just hoping golds value goes up so I can sell it for more money?
If I buy stocks, aren't I just hoping that stocks go up so I can sell mine for more money?
Same for any cryptocurrencies.
What information is required to turn it from pure gambling to fruitful investing?

i dont know anything about how tradingview.com strategy tester actually works but when i use Heikin Ashi over regular candles to calculate, my profit factor goes from 1.2 to 4.35 and % profitable from 37 to 56. on BTCUSD at a 3hr timescale, everything ive written seems to work best at 3hr ts for crypto for some reason.

from what little i have found heikin ashi its better at identifying trends but what im asking is it trustworthy ? and how it really work ? and is the stratagy tester somwhat accurate ? i have commission built in and stop losses for whale dumps
