Although deflation can increase the purchasing power of the federal reserve notes, at the same time the purchasing power of metals would be retained albiet a number value drop. Still going to be able to trade a handful of gallons of gasoline for an oz of silver, however if we go back to silver dollars via the deflation route, would u not want to spend 20 nickels to get the same purchasing power as the silver oz?
Nothing wrong with some shoeboxes of nickels, my wife has a million pairs of shoes and i have some nickel boxes that conveniently blend in
