Premiums are irrelevant. I only care about the street price. The dealer could charge 9000% premiums on a 1 oz coin, and I will gladly buy so long as it's < 24 euros for 1 oz silver, or < 1800 for 1 oz gold.

i never claimed that, im not sure if youre trying to be funny gaslighting me or not on that. anyway, besides the obvious, why 1971 is important is the government took the brakes off gold, they let the market set the price, and in the resulting decades, it exploded. They did that to silver back in the mid 1800s i think. Are we really wanting the government to tell us what are metals are worth? they did that for hundreds of years with the GSR. Im discouraged you trust the governments if you do believe that. The GSR is arbitrary number they changed at whim to suit their needs, read up on sir newton. i wonder what number they would pick this time.

the main problem with pms is they hard to deal with. the settlement mechanisms are not as beautifully simplistic as USTs. King dollar rules the world in ease of use and demand. It will strengthen beyond what you think is possible. No other nation is willing to go into such debt as to supply the world with a trading currency. the world is crying for dollars, they cant get enough. the brics thing is a hail mary, they have no choice, its pure desperation.
