I day trade, I don't hodl stocks because the risk is unnecessary for me
if a stock goes down 10% from my buy, I immediately sell, the loss is irrelevant
could it merely be a dip and I lose out? sure, but it could also keep going like yours did, so there absolutely no point in holding the bag
I can just wait for the next thing to move

additionally, I never put a substantial part of my account behind any given trade
10% is my cap for a starter position, with ~30% being if it looks really fucking good
I then sell the instant it looks to be turning against me
do I have the chance of missing out on more profit? sure, I missed an 800 fucking percent move, grabbing only 20% of it in the morning
but it looked to be a pump in dump, so I took my pump and left it to dump
another will come again eventually, they always do
