This is actually a possibility. One of the theories is that they "tell us" what they are going to do before they do it. Some people think this cancels out the negative karma. Some people believe that it puts the info into our subconscious to prime us or to use our collective creative power w/ our consent to shape reality. I wouldn't be surprised if they put their signs and symbols and passphrases out in the open to allow people who can see to take advantage.
