that's correct. young people care about INFLATION, but the polls don't reflect it because they answer first about their student loans. well, fucking DUH, the problem with their loan isn't that they're in one, it's that they can't get out of one while paying for shit which is skyrocketing in price.
who the fuck ever got upset about BORROWING SIX FIGURES and paying it back in $1000-a-month increments during years where $1000 goes from "a paycheck" to "chump change?" absolutely nobody, not even minimum wage employees. YOU WON THAT. you already FUCKED the banks (on an individual basis anyway). you can defer student loans more than any other kind, practically endlessly, until you have substantial income.
a cash flow problem is never a leverage problem for a young person, it's the same in businesses: growth vs. value. growth companies don't give a fuck. it's always an expense issue and its always the established value companies that have a long debt schedule they have to figure out.
so students actually care about inflation, they just are totally blind to the idea that, in fact, they don't have to pay more for food and rent endlessly. they don't even know capitalism not only doesn't always do that, but that it constantly relieves that while the fed constantly makes it worse for them. they think it's baked in so they turn around and yell somewhere else.
but once they start getting some durable goods, saving up some money, building a family maybe, they'll change their tune. they'll realize they have something to defend, and what (inflation) and ((((who)))) to defend it against.
