The algos only spot and follow short term (day to week) trends. This rally is being caused by 1. an outsized amount of people on the short side causing consistent squeezes 2. enough "buy the dip" disciples covering their eyes and going in and 3. algos following the trend

At some point this buying pressure goes too far and runs out of steam, then we get a very rapid and vicious descent back downwards and the process repeats
