think about it
the present moment is made up entirely of a collection of prior moments leading up to it

the past retroactively confirms that the present is real through "change" in each block (think of every block as a second in time)
the future on the other hand is completely encrypted and impossible to predict, it can only be validated through Proof of Existence when a conscious being experiences that block. At which point the future is immediately hashed into the present and then immediately hashed into the past which confirms that block as real.
