This movie is great

It singlehandedly turned me from a capitalism-hating liberal communist into a hardline white-collar /biz/ness fascist

Problem is the guys in the Big Short had a lot of capital already (worked for big investment funds)

It's also likely that the student loans are issued by some government department rather than a private listed company, (I'm not sure whether you could short a goverment entity that isn't plc)

Could Someone please explain to me why buying and holding works better than shorting garbage?
I have an eismanian sense that most companies are WAY overvalued so my go to action is to short things i find ludicrously expensive... One RH allows shorting in the future, will the game be up?
hy does it pay to go long over the long term?

Can somebody explain to me what was alluded to in The Big Short about the big banks keeping the value of the cds's at 0 while they went to other banks to short the housing market? Were the banks buying cds's from the other banks? And if everybody was buying cds's like crazy right b4 the crash, how could the big banks keep the value of them at 0? What am i missing?

Did anyone see this? I personally liked it, and it ran like a mix between a documentary and a film. It's as if you made Moneyball (based on the book by the same author) into a movie with interviews.

It also did a great job of simplyfying terms and then explaining them.

My question is: are people in this field really THAT dishonest?
