What are /3/ opinions on blender IF we also start ussing blender addons on our work?

I mean, watching this video, blender starts stopping being a crappy mediocre piece of shit and It looks now (with the addons) like a competitive professional tool.

How the hell am I supposed to make high quality CG porn for free? MBLab's rig just doesn't compare.

Blender is the Trump of 3D, and the Blender derangement syndrome is real.

Mainly because I have Grant Abbitt's voice engraved in my brain from all the times he said to install it.

I mean it becomes more usable, but I wouldn't go THAT far.

Besides, all you people bitching about addons not being free, just go to CGPeers and download them if you have an account.

at that point, why not just download some better software?

Technically, you aren't voiding the add-ons license by getting them off some back-alley distributor.

In learning to use Maya Config Pro add-on with the HairTG add-on to work on hair specifically. Even with Maya Config I find Blender interface pretty horrendous. It's way better than it was years ago, but holy hell it's still garbage.

You just got used to Maya and can't adapt to new and different things...

Not him, but my first 3D software was Blender and I find its UI uncomfortable and all over the place, despite having at some point been used enough to it. After some time exploring other tools, I prefer Maya's UI, and can stomach ZBrush's very well. They are more... hierarchical, so to say. Designed. Not grown out of putting things together as they come.

Ironically I was reverse. Started with Maya and prefer blender's UI. Most of the people I know irl prefer the blender setup. To each his own
