How was the experience?

>> No.750749

Only made movie type maquettes, clay on steelwire armature and nothing on the scale you have there.

Was more difficult than I had imagined, I learned to sculpt on the PC and always assumed sculpting in real world materials would be a lot easier than it is.

Having to deal with gravity, mallability of your clay and the structural integrity of the thing you're making
means it's actually more difficult to arrive at the same results in traditional media.

You can move around your subject more fluidly and intuitively and feeling the shape of the surface means some edits are a lot easier to make.
The detail work possible in real clay is a lot more exact but you become limited by scale here, where as on the computer you can make yourself as big or small as you need to be.

>> No.750751

>>750746
I've made miniatures (28-45mm) both via 3D printing, and through polymer clay/epoxy putty sculpting.

Some things are a lot harder, some things are lot easier.

You have to deal gravity and the weight of parts of the model, you have to deal with the physical properties of the material, you have to deal with heat and drying times. As >>750749 says:

>The detail work possible in real clay is a lot more exact but you become limited by scale here, where as on the computer you can make yourself as big or small as you need to be.

Working at the scale I work at, detail and precision are a lot harder in clay than they are in 3D.

Also, there's no mirror tool.

I think digital sculpting might be the only analogue vs digital comparison where digital just wins in basically every way.

Outside of not having a physical object at the end of it digital is faster, produces more detail, potentially is more intuitive and has tools that are just not available to real sculpting.

You can't apply real skin texture to a real sculpt with a brush for example.

Yes. Digital sculpting is very similiar to wax sculpting, so it felt very familiar to me from the very beginning.
With wax sculpting you have a very similiar workflow, you build up a raw shape and then subtract and add details and subtract again and smooth, etc.
I assume it's the closest technique to digital sculpting.

digital entropy ticks much faster: formats are made obsolete, storage devices degrade, bits are lost by a fluke from the edge of universe... mundane items aren't helping either, hell I've seen claims new houses would last only for 15 years before falling into disrepair and leave only ruin after 50 years...

and if you fag in your fur you gotta believe in Jesus the Christ or you will go to hell when you die and live with the other furfags forever.

"So what, if I am a furfag what does it matter to me if hell is full of fur?" you don't get it you will burn like gasolin soaked monk FOREVER

a. is incredibly upset a notion of "symbolism" he has himself invented and that nobody seriously proposes, literally trolling himself within the confines of his own retard brain until he's red in the face; and
b. expects his and everyone else's output to be judged by manhours invested like it's some kindergarten where they judge kids by "effort". literally "my art is the most artful because it took a long time".

the fact that his pretentious and boring "every scale by hand" shit dragon got upstaged by simple vulgarity is fucking great and whoever curated it deserves props for almost certainly intentionally trolling the dumb dragon guy just by arranging the pieces that way. that's brilliant and shows the exact opposite of your point: these people know exactly what they're doing and they're not getting "tricked" by shit on a canvas at all.

like, they put a sculpture OF a guy who likes to suck himself off next to a sculpture BY a guy who likes to suck himself off and the latter got so upset he literally quit art forever and became a manual laborer. you can't tell me that's not fucking amazing.

does it mean those shit-on-canvas tier "art" need another people works in order to mean anything? thats not art but vandalism then, which is crime. and if the curator did that deliberately like you said, then he's not curating but assuming the role of an artist making an "experience" called trolling which is cheap entertainment, not art.
convincing people that shit taste like chocolate and therefore valuable is an art of swindling though. so there, art! but also crime!

so, to recap, you feel like you've been the victim of a horrible crime. you feel like you have been swindled, like you've had your property vandalized, like your house has been invaded by shadowy figures who forced you to perform humiliating acts of (sexual?) coprophagia. now, none of those things have actually happened to you - these are all fantasies that your own stupid brain terrorizes you with. all you have to do is consider that in some art gallery out there an artwork might right now be getting "undeserved" attention, and your mind is filled with visions of terrible shit-rape in the dark, every art critic's favorable nod transmuted into one more chunky turd you are forced, helpless, to chew and swallow.

if any message at all can reach you down there in your private hell, let it be this one: this painting has sold for eighty six point nine million united states dollars. open wide.

rothko's probably worth even more.. his works are basically a cheat sheet for numerous artist working with colors and composition in a trillion$ industry.
Now you're blurring the line between culture and art (the latter is also the former, but not the other way around).
Your example of scandalous micheangelo's work is the case of art getting rejected by culture, no different with this thread OP furry art getting so much hate precisely because it's culturally inappropriate. That dick sucking piece of garbage on the other hand is an art on its own albeit made poorly, but if the intent is to desecrate other's work (despite that dragon is also a piece of unfinished crap), then it's a pop culture at best or worse if the intent is to simply draws controversy, then its political edgelord commie shit like ai weiwei's "muh destroyz" which is a meme, not art. Funny that when it come to those kind of stuff, it matter's most on who did it, why? because it is popular culture

Stuff that no one cares about preserving will be lost, same as any other time in history. But digital makes it easier for one person to preserve a massive amount of stuff. There are thousands of data hoarders out there with full rom sets for every console, digital copies of every popular book and movie, meme collections, etc. While digital mediums do degrade, that's assuming that they are left to rot with no maintenance. With digital, it's trivial to transfer your data to a new medium when the old one is set to be obsolete. Quite unlike something like a rare physical book, where creating a new copy is non-trivial and requires access to a printing press and the legal right to press it. Easy and infinite copy-ability eliminates this problem by making it possible to clone and pass on the data to anyone who is interested, legally or illegally. And there will always be someone interested, for at least the most significant works.

His paranoia sure had nothing to do with the copious amounts of amphetamines he took as well as an equally amount of other drugs to be able to sleep.
Uppers in the morning, downers in the evening. There is a whole book about this topic called "Nazi's on Speed". Should be an documentation on YT too with the same name - very interesting.
Kinda Ironic when you consider that the Nazi's invented/pushed the word "Rauschgift" (= intoxication poison. ) A propagandic term that was used by the Nazi then later by War against drugs proponents.
All while its an historic fact that the Nazi's couldn't have rushed Poland so quickly without the organized military usage of amphetamine.
And they are still in use today.

Such a retarded post I don't even think you're a troll, I think you're being genuine.
At some point mongs (like you) were unidentifiable from trolls because all trolls had to do was act retarded and they'd get (you)s whereas mongs (like you) would act retarded, only without the self-awareness to know how retarded they sound (unlike the trolls). Really, the only person who knew for certain whether a post was made by a troll or someone mentally subnormal was the poster themselves. But then you turned your stupidity up to 11 and even the trolls couldn't compete with a genuine bootlicker.
I'd ask you if that makes you feel even more pathetic, but I've already mentioned the problems you have with self-awareness so it would be pointless even asking.

that's a nice quote. now try actually reading it and applying it to the topic at hand: nazism was precisely a disruption of the unity described in the quote. it sought to discard traditional values and replace them with modern degeneracy: social darwinism, vulgar neopaganism and idiotic science fictional utopianism. what enduring ties can exist in a society in which you're expected to allow your own sick father to be slaughtered like an animal just because some bureaucrat has determined it to be more efficient than treating him? any nation that operates like that has obviously become rootless and deranged. so of course this perverted mindset led immediately to "nihilism, drug abuse, criminality and worse".
