Why don't you just pin the clothes to some essential points on your model, enable some collision physics to the model and just make it a cloth simulation?
That way your clothes would actually look like they're on the person.
The clothbrush is neat but that's not how you use it.

Blender sculpt is fine, I started there too, but you know what's better?

zbrush, every single thing you can do in blender sculpt is there in zbrush but it's faster and works better. Then on top of that you have 1,000 features blender doesn't have like actual sculpting layers, xtractor, morph brush, VDMs, roller brushes for detailing, a gizmo that doesn't suck, zremesher. etc.

Do yourself a favor anon, hit up them torrents and swap to zbrush now rather than later because you're gonna end up there no matter what.

>> No.806972

>>806829
I'm one of those anons who told you that, for a first sculpt, that one wasn't that bad.

Seeing now the consequences, I know I must've stayed quiet.

This is great, do you have any more examples?

How long does it take to get results like this? I mean, isn't there a lot of trial and error involved in doing this in Blender?

Also is there no way to fix the seams from looking messed up? It really hurts the final look.

Took me a few hours yesterday, mostly just tweaking the patterns, as I don't really know much about patterning. My pc is shit doe, so I guess with a better machine the sim runs faster and you could probably get it quicker.
>Also is there no way to fix the seams from looking messed up? It really hurts the final look.
I planned to go just GoZ with it and sculpt the shit out of the messed up edges, but you made me realize this can be fixed more easily. Here is how it looks after deleting the seam edges and beveling the borders.
I borrowed a pattern making book today and will play around with it a bit more, see how it goes once you get a hang of it.
I'm also using garment tool addon, which really simplifies the patterning. I can upload it somewhere if you're interested.

if it has a button it can be rebound, you just press ctrl and alt then click on it and press the button to bind it.

You can rebind navigation controls if you really want with a text file I believe but I didn't bother, it really doesn't take you that long to get used to them.

Only a nub doesn't know about sage. Seems like you might be pretty new, too, especially since you seem to give a shit about file names. Seethe harder, little nub.
