Think it might be the fact that these games takes place in such a survival setting also.
Having heavy freckles like that makes it way less apparent how Ellie is wearing make up to look good
Really doesn't make any sense she'd be putting on that eyeshadow and eyeliner given the circumstances of the game.
Freckles kinda make it all blend in and also red'ens the cheeks without making the blush stand out, overall effect is subtle enough that you don't question it.

I'm not a centrist, I'm def on the left, just not the current left or the kinda left that have borderline fascist views on issues of free speech.
Back in the day the left used to care about free speech since it understood that standing up for the right to express views no matter how problematic
is how you ensure that important dissent can't be censored and silenced.

Then at some point we started contemplating way too deeply how we should feel about other peoples feelings about what set of junk they wanna pretend is in their pants.
Which is objectively a retarded thing to focus on since this is a question that affect a fraction of a percent of the population, while we have a slew of real issues that affect just about everyone.
When we started to tell everyone to shut the fuck up and fall in line, attempting to de-platform and disenfranchise anyone who had problematic views about what we where doing I showed myself out the door.

It's not about being 'the perfect moderate' it's about how people oughta recognize you can hold all kinds of ideas in your head different than their own
and not be wrong since a lot of politics comes down to what we value and who we wanna see benefit and why, and reach agreements on just what justice is to be.
But people left and right are so busy misrepresenting other peoples ideas, fighting straw-men arguments and attempting to draw the cheer of their own peers, it's so dishonest and unworthy.
