There is no intrinsic problem with the FBX export. FBX export is always base resolution and you'll lose all the joint controlled morphs so it will always look worse outside of DAZ without a lot of fixing. It's better to just export the high res mesh in obj if you want to render stuff externally.

the emissive mask just does not appear to work at all, its uv'd properly and its in the right position

I have tried setting the colour value in the emission colour everything from pure black, various greys, reds and white and it always gives a tint to the whole object. Same thing with the luminance and temperatures, tried various settings and it always seems to apply to the whole object

It is annoying how much darker shit gets once you apply some slight SSS to it. Without it, skin looks completely unacceptable but with it you either have to adjust every bit in the scene to not shine with the power of 1000 suns or apply SSS also to clothes which is not always necessary for an OK look.

i got a problem with morph loader pro
so iv been designing underwears n bras n shit for my custom characters and i wanna start selling but i found out that well i have to have them working on gen8 chars, i cant just sell shit that only fits my overweight models
so
im trying to do something kinda related
i went back to scratch, took screencaps of all my character s morphs and then loaded a new gen8 char
i went down the list and applie the sliders to what i had, less minor tweaks and more generalised ones
the purpose of this was to combine htem into a single fatty morph i could use
but
the problem is
i export the new Gen8 figure right, that I have adjusted the morphs on, base res/high res/zero subD iv tried all those options, then load in a new gen8 character and try to use morph loader pro to add that other char as a morph and im getting GEOMETRY NOT MATCHING errors

how is tis possible? iv tried every combination of makin sure both meshes are on base, on high, same level of subd etc etc but it always gives the same error
i thought when you use morphs it doesnt actually add geometry, it just moves the current geometry around? so why cant i load a morphed gen8 morph onto a new gen8 figure?

How do you do some very simple weight painting inside daz?
I have seen tutorials but either they are using older versions of daz or in the newer ones, i cant see the steps they take to get into the weight painting modes inside daz

i can see theres a bunch of tools and shit in the tool editor but i cant seem to get the options some tutorials are using

pic related, this has fit quite nicely for the most part but i just wanna let it slide into the butthole a bit better

I kinda solved the issue by just making the actual model thinner in the thong area, but I feel like if I knew how to weight paint it in Daz it would be a nicer solution, it is possible right? I know how to do it in blender but I'm just not seeing any way in which I can select the Daz joints and paint off their influence on the undies. I can do it for the gen8 model itself, but not my panties.
I'm seeing lots of dforce weight painting YouTube videos but these are right tight painties so I don't need dforce on them.

I'd like to know how to weight paint a mesh thats underneath another, the brush only paints on the topmost surface..

I tried it, the result was I could get it thin, but it would leave a large gap between the butthole and the panties as if they were drooping down. Not a good look for any lady.

Depending on the figure, you can adjust a body morph for genital height. If you have 3feetwolfs new gens series, you can adjust anus rim and hip depths independently. Do that slightly then readjust the underwear.

Eevee with diffeomorphic are a very convincing argument. My old thinkpad with 1GB quadro couldn't do iray worth a damn, does decently with eevee.
As is, nobody uses iclone but even less will once the conversion to blender is seamless.

im somewhat familiar with blender and have made silly chars myself before with rigs

so i followed the diffeomorphic guide for daz > blender and some stuff works, other stuff just doesnt

but the other stuff i can workaround, this is just weird though
this is the result of 'convert to rigify'
its a fucking mess, theres bones not connected to anything, parts of the rig that do nothing etc etc

With character selected, check parameters tab.
Select "Currently used" and it should shall all used sliders.

I just downloaded this program (first time using any 3d program) and messing around with it. Did the tutorials, final test said render this. Took 40 minutes and the pic is blurry as shit

For best results you'll need a recent nvidia card to render in iray. You should also take a look at the DAZ3D youtube channel for more in depth tutorials.

Real blurriness can only happen if you mess with the camera settings. If you didn't, I guess you mean pixelated. If you did mess with the camera settings, don't do that until you know what you're doing, mate. If you didn't, read the rest.

Now, you need to understand that Daz uses Iray to render, which is a pathtracing technique. Point is: Iray uses a truckload of computation to simulate light. As in, it physically simulates light to the photon's path. Understandably, it takes a truckload of processing power to create a picture with that algorithm. The more computation you throw at it, the less pixelated it will be.

Depending on the light, a decent render on CPU takes between 4 hours and 48 hours. Divide it by ten if you use a good GPU. 40 minutes of cpu is retarded, and will only gives you extremely pixelated results, which I guess you interpret as blurry, somewhat?

Well I didn't mess with the settings or even set a time for the render. Daz told me when it was done. I just looked into render settings and the Pixel Size were set to 364x291. I changed that to 1000x800 and rendered again. The picture is less pixellated (thanks) now but still less quality than other 1000x800 pictures I have on my computer

That depends on what you're in to. Though, V4 is quite dated despite having a higher poly count in general than newer figures. Plenty of people still use it but it might be easier to jump right in to Genesis 3 or 8.
