Pick up 2D drawing, its easier then 3d stuff for beginners. Study books while you draw,anatomy, perspective, gesture. All you need is some pencils and paper,when you are intermediate move into digital art or maybe 3d modeling. Dont listen to naysayers, you can still make it at 35, if you grind 30- 40hours per week
