>better gpu
only for progressive/RT rendering
bucket rendering uses good ol CPU core (meaning that you need a kickass processor)

>baking textures
not really proper for PBR, but that can be a solution

>literally only those two
eeeh no

>>664587
you can also minimize render time by managing the following:
>geometry subdivision
>amount of lights in the scene
>glossiness of the materials
>amount of GI calculations (sometimes low settings work well too)
>clamping (if you don't need 32bit output)
>whole scene optimization (including sampling and AA, yes)
>removing heavy duty things like fog, SSS, and caustics

ok half of this makes sense and the other half is completely retarded
for instance, of course if you understand lighting you can use it in 2D work or bring it to 3D
but what the hell is about HDRIs being an environment for preview in a diffuse state? that makes no sense whatsoever. An HDRI can be used to simulate a fully lit environment, it has exposure information and can definitely create all the shadows and other qualities (contrast, color tint, etc.) a hand-made setup would do.

>>664492
Lighting is part of 3D because without it, you don't have an image, just like in photography or cinema. It's used as part of the creative pipeline to showcase your models and interact with all the surfacing work. You might wanna reconsider what a full 3D pipeline is.

>Can 3ds max be used to design furniture, interrior etc.

3dsmax + Vray is one of the best combo you can get to create architectural and design work, so I'd say that with enough dedication, you could definitely achieve something. It's a long road, but an interesting one.

Find professional artists that create things that you'd want to create yourself, and use their tips/work to get inspired and get better!

Check out Alex Roman, Bertrand Benoit, Peter Guthrie, Ronan Beckerman, and Matt Guetta

Good luck

kk well I worked in the industry as well and my experience with architects was quite different, in the sense that they had little to no knowledge about rendering and were instead relying on a small 3D team to do all their images

>>629482
Well.. when Alex Roman released his infamous showreel (like.. 8 years ago?), it was quite ahead in quality and aesthetics, so it quickly became the main ref for everybody. Other artists like Peter Guthrie, Ronan Beckerman and Matt Guetta (among many others) were also doing really impressive stuff, but Alex Roman's video truly had a unique perspective and an unparalleled wow effect versus everything else at that time. It was of course copied countless times since it's release, so in today's standards it may appear less special, but it's really not overrated.

im getting burned out too
my advice based on personal experience:
>take a good break (days or weeks), go outside, see friends and family
>yes, do physical work, and if possible, travel for a bit
>watch your favourite original movie/series or read your go-to novel (this restores your faith in creative content and gets you inspired)
>do some research, learn about new techniques, get into storytelling
>at this point there's something brewing in your head.. start to get visual references
>you can finally start a new personal project that you know you will enjoy

why would a multi billion dollar business put a bunch of nameless artists in the forefront?

for fucks sake adam sandler still has a career..
name/brand recognition > art

nobody gives a shit about us

let's unite with foley artists and the costume department

>Shitty Pixar frame render time: 16 hours

keeeeek
you're actually bitching on the first 3D animated full-length movie ever made

Pixar practically invented both the hardware and software required to create this

if you don't think it's an incredible achievement, better kys blenderfaggot, because everything CGI-related owes something to the pioneers that came before them and pushed the limits of the technology

is that fucking bait?
I really doubt LT doesn't allow you to render and animate properly (something that Maya excels at)
